How SDC Started
Stunt Driving Clinic began with a simple request: "Can you teach us?"
SDC was first created in Toronto, Canada, in 2014 after Tim Cody was approached by fellow stunt performers who wanted to develop their skills and confidence behind the wheel.
What began as Tim sharing his knowledge with a few colleagues quickly grew into something much more. SDC became an opportunity to coach, mentor and challenge stunt professionals to push beyond what they thought they were capable of. Over the years, Tim had the privilege of training and working alongside performers who have gone on to become some of Toronto's top working stunt professionals.
When Tim made the decision to return home to Australia after more than a decade in Canada, he knew there was one part of that journey he wanted to bring home with him.
The coaching.
SDC was reborn in Australia from Tim's genuine love of sharing knowledge, developing performers and creating an environment where people can learn, make mistakes, ask questions and discover just how capable they can become with the right training and support.
With more than 30 years in the entertainment industry, Tim brings a unique perspective to SDC. His career has taken him from performer to stunt performer, specialist driver, stunt coordinator and driving coach, giving him extensive experience both behind the wheel and behind the camera.
But SDC isn't about one person's achievements. It's about passing knowledge forward.
Tim believes some of the most valuable lessons come not only from the things that went right, but also from the mistakes, challenges and hard-earned lessons along the way. SDC gives him the opportunity to share both.
The goal is to create safer, more confident and more capable stunt performers who understand that stunt driving isn't simply about making a car go sideways. It's about control, precision, repeatability, communication, understanding the camera and being someone a Stunt Coordinator can trust when the pressure is on.
